As part of its commitment to infrastructure development and public safety, Kuldipsingh Infra N.V. successfully carried out the full reconstruction of the bridge on Van ’t Hogerhuysstraat across the Saramacca Canal. The project involved the demolition of the outdated structure, and the construction of a modern, durable bridge designed to improve traffic flow and meet current safety standards.
The reconstruction was executed in the following steps:
1. Demolition and Removal of the Existing Bridge:
- Demolition of the old structure, including the deck, barriers, and expansion joints.
- Removal and disposal of debris.
2. Ground improvement with vertical drainage:
- Installation of vertical drainage to improve soil conditions and increase load-bearing capacity.
3. Substructure construction with piles and precast girders:
- Installation of reinforced concrete piles to reach stable soil layers.
- Placement of precast concrete girders to support the bridge deck.
4. Superstructure in-Situ concrete:
- Construction of the bridge deck in-situ with reinforced concrete.
- Pouring of high-strength concrete into formwork, with attention to curing and proper bonding.
5. Installation of traffic furniture:
- Installation of guardrails, signage, lighting, and traffic markings for safety and traffic flow.
6. Reconstruction and Redesign of Adjacent Roads and Intersections:
- Redesign of the connecting roads and intersections to improve traffic flow and safety.
