Young talent is the cornerstone of our industry future. With this guiding principle, we reflect with great satisfaction on the successful career
days held on May 30th and 31st at the Kuldipsingh Port Facility. As a leading entity within the Surinamese industrial sector, we were pleased to offer students from technical schools and one of the General Secondary Technical Education schools (in dutch Algemeen Middelbaar Technisch Onderwijs – AMTO) comprehensive insights into the promising career pathways available at Kuldipsingh.
During the career days, students could visit various information booths from different
departments, including support departments such as project management, finance,
agency, and logistics. Here, they gained insights into the current and future projects of
both Kuldipsingh Port Facility and Kuldipsingh Equipment. At the HSEQ, Engineering,
and Operations departments, they learned about the technical aspects of the work, as
well as information on technical support, safety, and environmental management.
Interactive sessions and presentations provided further industry insights, where
employees shared their experiences and offered advice on preparing students for a
career in the port and heavy equipment industries.
The primary aim of these career days was to give students from technical disciplines a thorough understanding of the career opportunities within the port industry and the
logistics services supporting international oil companies. Students received a detailed
overview of both operational and supportive functions, alongside the persistent need for
skilled technicians and logistics professionals.
Our objective at Kuldipsingh was to inform students and provide them with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the working environment where they might build their future. By facilitating this hands-on experience, we demonstrated the importance of the need to bridge the gap between vocational education and practical application.
The positive feedback and the enthusiastic response from the audience regarding these
career days, has strengthened our commitment to future initiatives. We are dedicated to nurturing young talent and will continue to host similar events, investing in the future of the Surinamese industry.
